.EE domain deletion

If the owner of a domain name decides not to use or renew it, they can initiate its deletion by submitting a signed digital application for verification purposes. This application is then sent to the central registry, which triggers a 30-day removal period. Once this period expires, the domain is suspended and then randomly deleted within 24 hours.

Allowing the registration to expire and not renewing it is the most typical way of relinquishing a domain.
